Practical project management
This course teaches the participants the basics of formal project management. The course is deliberately independent of international project management frameworks such as PMI and Prince2, but rather covers the common basis of project management without elaborating on process implementation details specific to any methodology. It introduces tools and techniques that can help any project management to deliver projects within time and budget.
Why this training
Project management is a language. This training course teaches this language in a very interactive way. We believe that this training provides the required fundamentals for anyone involved in project management.
- Confidently work in a project management team and understand the project management slang.
- Be a project manager.
- Apply the most common project management techniques.
The course is organized around the different process groups of the project management life cycle being initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control and closure. Within the process groups planning and monitoring & control, we will go through all knowledge areas (scope, time, resource, cost, risk, communication) within project management.
Research shows that doing (and not listening) is the most effective way of learning. Bearing this in mind, this course will not be a typical lecture. The participant of this course will learn project management tools & techniques by applying them on a case during an interactive role play. During the course, the demanding project owner (i.e. trainer) will place the participants in challenging project situations.
Starting project managers or project professionals and experienced project managers who want to have a more solid theoretical basis.
